Uncommon Cups and Cones was established at 518 Vincennes Street, New Albany in October 2018. It closed briefly March 5, 2022 and re-opened under new ownership on June 1, 2022. Prior to being an ice cream shop, the building housed a consignment shop.
Kind of an unusual question, but people really do ask. No, we do not live upstairs. The shop is attached to the house that has been divided into apartments; however, the owners do not live there. The shop and the house have 2 different addresses.
We love parties! If more than half of your attendees will be getting our ice cream, then there is no charge to have the room. If you only want the room (no ice cream) or less than ½ of the attendees will be getting ice cream, then it is $25 per hour.
The Upper Room is ideal for small gatherings such as study groups, small club meet-ups, showers, birthdays and more! It will comfortably seat 15-18 people.
The best way to check availability and to reserve the room and answer any other questions you may have, is to give us a call at 812.924.7047. You can also reach us by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Contact us to check availability for your special date. No deposit is required, and you can cancel at any time prior to the date of your event. You may arrive up to 1 hour in advance to decorate. You may bring in outside food and drink. You may purchase ice cream and any other products that we offer. We’ll work with you to figure out what you’d like to offer your guests.

We change our ice cream flavors often and rotate in seasonal favorites; however, we do have many gluten free options and usually 2-3 dairy-free options available. Currently, we do not have a sugar free option but are anticipating getting some No Sugar Added options before summer 2023.
We will be selling hot dogs during the summer.

It depends on when you're reading this. We hire based off of business need and seasonality. We'll need more staff late spring and throughout the summer.
We’re always seeking good applicants who want to work in a fun, fast paced environment and love serving and talking to people. Stop by, pick up an application, fill it out and bring it back so we have it on file. If we’re interested in setting up an interview, we’ll reach out to you.
